The International Relations Academy (IRA) was founded in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest metropolis and a global mega city. Its purpose is to unleash a process of meaningful discourse in International Relations (IR). IRA engages IR students, faculty, and stakeholders in examining how to bridge the knowledge gap between the West and the developing world.
The idea to launch the International Relations Academy (IRA) originated from a vision to institutionalize International Relations research and training in Pakistan. With Karachi being the country’s largest metropolis and a global mega city, it was chosen as the hub for this initiative. IRA was conceptualized to serve as a center for innovation, critical thinking, and academic advancement in IR, tailored to the specific needs of the developing world.
To unleash a process of meaningful discourse in Pakistan about International Relations (IR) through institutional measures where IR students, faculty and other stakeholders can examine in detail how knowledge gap between the West and the developing countries can be bridged through a process of innovative and creative research. The idea to launch International Relations Academy (IRA) in Karachi, which is the world’s mega city and Pakistan biggest and largest metropolis, is rooted in providing training, conducting path breaking research, best practices and advocacy in the field of IR.

The idea of launching the International Relations Academy (IRA) in Karachi was initiated by a visionary committed to fostering meaningful discourse on International Relations (IR) in Pakistan. The foundation of IRA is rooted in training, path-breaking research, best practices, and advocacy, all designed to elevate the quality and relevance of International Relations scholarship in Pakistan.
